Per DPS 2 individuals were killed in Sundays wreck on Hwy 69
Two people were killed in a Sunday evening two-vehicle collision traffic accident on U.S. Highway 69 just north of Weiland Road. It is “yet to be determined reason the Jeep crossed into the northbound lane striking the Grand Caravan head on.”
A Hunt County Sheriffs Officer was in the area of Highway 224 near CR 4405 when he found a subject severely injured from a Motor Vehicle Accident.
Upon arrival the officer stated the subject told him that he wrecked his vehicle on Hwy 224 near the South Sulphur bridges. Officer requested Hunt County EMS, stating the victim had serious injuries.
Hunt County EMS & Commerce Fire units responded to the scene eventually landing a medical helicopter to fly out the patient.
DPS was called to the scene to conduct their accident investigation, as always. DPS located the vehicle off in the treeline near the bridges. Upon making entry into the wrecked vehicle the DPS officer located a second patient. He immediately called for a second ambulance.
Hunt County EMS along with Commerce Rescue made scene to where the vehicle was wrecked out at. Commerce rescue had to extricate the second patient from the vehicle. EMS quickly launched another helicopter to the scene.
At this time we do not know the status of either patient.
DPS has released the following statement regarding the major accident on Hwy 34 South of Quinlan on Saturday.
The preliminary investigation indicates a grey Ford Escape coming from private road 3780 failed to yield to a cement truck while turning South onto State Highway 34. The cement truck was traveling South on SH-34 and attempted to avoid hitting the Ford Escape but clipped the back drivers side then then crossed into the North bound lanes of travel hitting a Ford Flex head on.
The driver and passenger of the Ford Escape were transported by Medical Helicopters with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the cement truck was transported by Hunt County EMS to Hunt Regional Medical Center of Quinlan with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford Flex was pronounced deceased on scene.
Name of the deceased has not been released. DPS will continue their investigation of the accident
Monday around 10 A.M Greenville P.D, DPS, Hunt County EMS & Greenville Fire responded to a major motor vehicle accident in the area of I-30 Westbound near mile marker 95. Upon arrival units checked 18 wheeler vs vehicle, MAJOR DAMAGE. Word from DPS as of now is, A 18 wheeler was parked on the side of the interstate. The Black SUV swerved hitting the truck, killing the passenger of the SUV. The driver was airlifted and is expected to survive the accident. A third vehicle was involved hitting debris in the roadway, unknown injuries from driver of that vehicle
AirEvac 67 out of Greenville was dispatched to the scene to transport 1 patient via helicopter to Dallas along with 1 Signal 27 (Death) called with this accident.
TxDot was called to the scene to assist with traffic, as the highway was shutdown completely for an extended period of time. The highway as of 11:52am is down to one lane slowly moving while Troopers continue their investigation.

Texas DPS officers had assistance from several other Counties this morning in a multi-county pursuit. A white Ford Passenger car took off from officers this morning leading them on a pursuit with speeds up to 115 MPH.
This all started in Smith County when officers tried to pull over 38 year old Chad Nathan Veazey. Veazey took off leading DPS officers thru different counties not slowing down. Suspect was traveling the wrong direction barely missing cars at points of the chase.
Van Zandt County Officers joined in on the chase to assist DPS officers. When the pursuit entered Wills Point, the suspect hit a pedestrian sending him to the hospital. Chase continued down FM 47 several miles, with suspect driving into oncoming traffic, until suspect turned off on CR 2406 where officers found the suspects vehicle in a field.
DPS Helicopter along with TDCJ Dogs are in the area of CR 2406 searching for Chad Nathan Veazey at this time. Anyone with information on Chad Nathan Veazeys whereabouts please call 903-780-8801
As for the subject that was ran over in Wills Point. He is in stable condition with non life threatening injuries.
DPS along with Hunt County Sheriffs Office are currently searching for a subject who has hit a tree in a vehicle, then fleeing from officers on foot in the area Of Hwy 380 and CR 2148. Unknown if this was from a pursuit or not at this time.

*UPDATE: Suspect is in custody after dogs surrounded a camper trailer that he broken into trying to hide.
HCSO was contacted by Hopkins County of a hit and run accident that happened in Hopkins County. DPS was notified also. They were told both vehicles were traveling WB I30 passing the 106mm. A few minutes later HCSO was notified that Hopkins County SO was out with the two vehicles on the North Service Raod of I30 at CR 4113. While Hopkins County SO was out a DPS officer pulled up to assist. After doing some investigation work they found out the driver who caused the hit and run was 95 (warrant) out of Arkansas. DPS notified HCSO that they have an animal and needs animal control to come pick up the animal. HCSO stated that HC doesn’t have animal control. DPS then requested GPD to contact Greenville Animal Control to come pick the animal up. The driver that has been arrested has an animal with them and doesn’t have anyone to take it. That is why Animal Control is being requested
