Vehicle Hit A Power pole On Friday Closing Down Sayle Street In Greenville

We have confirmed it was a vehicle that hit the power pole on Sayle St. Friday, closing the 5000 block down for sometime.

Friday afternoon a vehicle smashed into a power pole in the 5000 block of Sayle St. causing live power lines to fall across the street. Greenville Fire & P.D responded to the scene to block part of the roadway off, detouring traffic around the scene. The vehicle that hit the pole did not stop.

Another call of a possible drunk driver on Sayle Street came in around the same time all of this happened. We have not confirmed but did hear officers got the vehicle stopped, near Briscoe Street Off of Sayle in Greenville.

No injuries reported, GEUS got the line fixed, and roadway was opened back up.
